It definitely has shades of Grimm's Fairy Tales in many ways. It has a good story line I think, especially for a children's book. I could see it as a book that's illustrated in fact.
Description:
Grub and Ditto, two young goblins, learn a valuable lesson while working for a struggling wizard. Being lazy, dishonest, and greedy gets goblins nowhere. When a spell backfires, because of their silly and irresponsible behavior, and produces a unicorn their lives are turned upside down.
