My review: Quite a view of bigotry in the 1890's that has lessons for us today. My own viewpoint of "live and let live" wouldn't have been very well tolerated back then. If you were gay you had to keep it quiet and not let anyone know. It didn't matter if you were the most giving person in the world and Mildred happens to help out just about anyone in the town.
My Son would have been one of those persecuted back then as he has openly stated that he is bisexual. That's something that's his decision on how he wants to live and I still accept him and love him. I'll say that this book has got me thinking which some books really are meant to do. This review copy will continue to be treasured for a long time.
