My review for "A Job From Hell" by Jade Scott

First of all, the cover just said something to me. It's just eerie and sure caught my eye when I seen it on Amazon.

I couldn't help but find the touch of humor throughout to be very engaging. It was cracking me up at the way Amber is with her brother. As the story moves along Amber is taken far outside of the place she had been comfortable.

I found as I went along that I could easily empathize with her situation. She needs the money so she takes a maid job in the middle of what would be nowhere normally. Oh, its a nice manor and all. It's just a little ways off of the beaten path. Soon after getting there the odd things started happening and they started the first night.

While there are some romance elements to the story I didn't find them overpowering. They were a nice addition actually and added more depth to the story.

The description:
The moment Amber starts her summer job in Scotland and sets eyes upon Aidan, her fate is sealed. Summoned by an ancient bond, she can never love another. Lost in the woods one night Amber enters Aidan's deadly world when she unknowingly participates in a paranormal race and promptly wins the first prize...a prize worth killing for.

In a world of forbidden love, ancient enemies, legends and rituals, nothing is as it seems and no one can be trusted. Life will never be the same again, unless she enters the Otherworld. But to do so, Amber must die...

A Job From Hell is the first book of the Ancient Legends series.
